The more people I meet, the more I feel like Melbourne is insanely connected.
Turns out, M who is a part of Twenty Six Letters, has known about Kish+Co for a wee while now. A childhood friend of mine (Pattar) told her about the blog and thought Pattar and I haven’t had the chance to catch up – M and I did. Huge thanks to Instagram for making it happen!
You know when you meet someone and it feels like you’ve known them for ages?
Meeting M at Cibi felt just like that.
The Cibi interiors feel casual and chilled. Homely but designer enough to know you’re in a well thought out space. So much sunlight and a relaxed vibe, you could chill with a laptop for hours and no one would raise an eyebrow.
Art on the walls. Ceramics at the back.
Very, very Collingwood in aesthetic.
M and I both ordered the soba noodles. And I’m guessing if you’re anything like me, these pictures will send you direct.
Lots of greens, perfectly cooked noodles and the right balance of flavours with the tofu. Perfection.
I know I could get shot on the foot for saying this, but it really has that home-made feel to it. And I love that feel.
Birds eye view.
Their ceramic collection has been there for a few years and they keep switching up the layout. Point in case: brown paper bags.
More wall art. Very Japanese.
Oh yeah, the desk we were sitting at was very old school. That is without a doubt, hand painted type.
Took me back to my childhood in Fiji where the desks have those lids on them with the hinges? Do you know what I mean? Or am I no longer Gen Y?
If you want to grab a herbal tea, chill in the sun and eat amazing noodles with a friend – Cibi is your place to be. Nothing pretentious. Just goodness.
